Daily NEWS from the camp

Monday, July 12th, 2004
All the 15 campers and Danny, Gerry, Fiona and Robert arrived well on the Hauereckhütte on 11:30am and - of course - it was raining. But fortunately the rain stopped long enough to get the camp set up. The campers moved in and had wraps for lunch.

After lunch they were playing some getting-to-know-each-other games and finally the Compass Game. At 6pm the children had room control and get ready to make Pizza for dinner.

Later on this evening the kids will make jam, have a camp-fire show (if the weather permits) and then go for a night walk.

The temperatures today at 6pm was 12°C with variable skies (30 minutes with sun shine, then 30 minutes of rain...).

Everybody is happy and having a good time.

As there was no rain yesterday evening both the camp-fire show and the night walk took place. It was a lot of fun for all the campers.
After a standard breakfast (toast, Cornflakes ...) they played some games like the very funny Pop The Baloon game. For lunch they had Hamburges and Veggieburgers.

In the afternoon they tie-dyed T-shirts and played the Highland Games (the scottish game). For dinner there will be spagetti.

The weather today: no rain but cloudy. The temperatures were between 6°C in the morning, 12° at midday and 10°C at 6pm. It was sunny by 6pm but there were heavy winds on the top of the mountain (not at the hut, fortunatly). If there is no rain the kids will play the Flashlight Game tonight.

All the children are well and enjoy their camp time.

Please note: Emails to the campers were deliverd today.

After last nights Flashlight Game, the ghost story and the Good Night song the children went to bed at 0:30am!

This morning they had standard breakfast (toast, eggs, Cornflakes...) they made masks and then they started the fire for the lunch hot dogs.

After kunch they hike to Alpl ("Roseggers Waldheimat"; more info is available here: http://www.krieglach.at/g_rpdenk.htm) to the pool and had a 2 hours swim'n'fun time. The outdoor pool had 27°C and the indoor pool had 31°C. Then they showered and washed. At 5pm they all had ice cream.

Then they will walk home and prepare for the buffet, room control and the camp fire show.

The weather today was variable: sun and clouds. In the morning they had 6°C which raise to 13°C in the afternoon at the camp hut. In Alpl there were 16°C. Weather should improve by tomorrow though.

If there is no rain tonight, the campers will play the Goblin Game (The Fairies Garden).

The kids are all fine and happy and clean - for now :)

This morning the campers had Irish Breakfast which they enjoyed. Thenafter they made salt-dough pictures and painted the masks they made yesterday.

For lunch they had Tacos and in the afternoon they played some indoor games and went for a brief 30 minutes walk.

At 7pm the kids prepared for the BBQ. Danny and Gregor will grill outdoors and the kids will eat indoors. Then they will have the camp party and try the fire works.

You guess it: the weather is miserable today. The tempereatures are around 10°C and there is rain all day long. So all the fires in the house are burning (hence it is very warm inside the house). The kids are well, just a little bit nerved about the bad weather. They hope to have better weather for tomorrow...

Last night the party was super. Everyone had a great time when Gerry played his Box Game. Afterwards the children had a fire works - in the rain. Ad midnight they went up to the bedrooms and listen to a ghost story, which was not so good but was followed by a spooky adventure. Lights out at 1:30am...

This morning the camp awoke at 10:30 and had pancakes for breakfast. Then they played some games until 1pm. They are now packing and cleaning the camp. Soon they will have lunch (sandwiches).

In the afternoon - if the weather is good - they will play some more out-door games. If the weather is too bad they will watch an english film on DVD.

The bus leaves the Hauereckhütte at 4:30pm and will arrive at Bellaflora at 6pm.

The weather on the last camp day was the best so far: in the morning there was sunshine and 13°C and at 1:30 they had sun and partitially clouds with 17°C and no wind.

We have prepared a - map of the area for you. And there are some - pictures of the hut we used this year, the "Hauereckhütte" in Styria.
