Daily NEWS from the camp

Monday, July 10th, 2006
The campers left Bad Vöslau at 10.00am and arrived safely at the Dr. Ferdinand Nagl hut on the Hohe Wand. They moved into the rooms, had wraps for lunch and did a tour of the camp and the sourrounding area.

In the afternoon they had some friendship games and the compass game in the forrest. They could enjoy a fine day with temperatures of about 25°C. Although there were some clouds around they eventually dissolved and there was no rain the whole day.

For dinner the children were making pizza and later on some jam (it's peach-apricote-nectarine this time).

In the evening there will the a camp fire show and a night walk.

All the kids are happy and are having a great time on their first camp day!

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006
Bedtime last night was at 12.00pm for the boys and girls after a long and exciting night walk.

This morning breakfast was 9.00am with Cornflakes (no toast this time). Then they did the diary and played a darts game afterwards.

For lunch at 1.30pm the campers had hamburgers, cheeseburgers and veggieburgers. At 2.30pm the whole groupe prepared for the scotish games (which will last 2 hours minimum). After this games the will make the tie dyed T-shirts.

The kids will have spaghetti for dinner, then a camp fire show and later on the flash light game in the forrest.

The weather is brilliant - looks like we are going to have another camp record today: they had about 20°C in the morning and around 27° at 2.30pm - and still raising. There are no clouds at all today; a great camp weather for all out-door acitivities.

All the kids children are healthy and enjoying these summer camp days!

After the flash light game the campers had an additional ghost night yesterday evening - so bedtime was at 0.30am(!!)

This morning the group had a scotish breakfast ("Armer Ritter") at 9.00am. Then they made Femo armbands. For lunch they made hot dogs over the camp fire.

As of 1.00pm the campers walked to the bus and headed to Neunkirchen for the out-door swimming pool where they will stay for the afternoon.

Later on they will have a buffet for dinner, then a camp fire show and there are plans for the Goblin game if it doesn't rain.

Although there were a lot if clouds during the day there was no rain at the Hohe Wand. There was a short but heavy rain in Neunkirchen at 3.30pm but the sun returns within 10 minutes. Good for the children: all of a sudden they had the big pool for them alone as most of the people left.

The temperatures today reach from 21°C in the morning up to 26°C in the afternoon. There was no rain at the camp area until 6.00pm and we hope it stays this way.

All the campers and Danny & Gerry & Fiona are healthy and having a real great time.

Last night the campers played the goblin game until 12.00pm, and it was super!

This morning the group had an Irish breakfast (i.e. beans and toast). Until noon the played tongue twister and built some shelters in the nearby forest.

For lunch the had various tacos. Then they played some water games and are about to start capture the flag as of the time of writing (4.10pm).

Later on they will have a dinner grill party, play Gerrys box game and do a camp fire show. And they will have the camp disco and a last fire works, of course.

The temperatures today were 21°C in the morning and up to 25°C during the afternoon. There was sunshine all day long with occasional clouds, but no rain or thunderstorm at the Hohe Wand!

All the campers are having a great time - out-door activities all day long (and parts of the night too :-).

Yesterdays fire works were lots of fun, so bedtime was at 12.00pm.

The campers had a pan cake breakfast at 9.00am and played some morning games on the picnic table afterwards.

For lunch they had a BBQ and then it was time to clean up the hut. In the afternoon the group watched a movie - you guess why: yes, the weather.

At 5.00pm they will head to the bus and return to Bad Vöslau (please expect a 15 minutes delay: due to the weather conditions they may be a little later).

So here is this weather: in the morning there was beautiful sunshine and 24°C until 3.00pm: heavy thunderstorm and rain at 16°C. But this is the last camp day for this year, so we were very lucky in 2006.

All the children are well and enjoying their last camp day.
