Daily NEWS from the camp

Monday, July 7th, 2008
The second group of campers this year arrived at 11am at the Dr. Ferdinand Nagl hut on the Hohe Wand. At this time is was sunny with 16°C. They moved in and soon after made a fire and hot-dogs for lunch.

Right after lunch the campers took a walk to get to know the area around the hut. At 2pm there was a thunderstorm with heavy rain and hail. So they had to play the games and do the painting indoors.

At the time of writing at 5pm the group is about to start some outdoor games as the weather was getting better (cloudy, 14°C but no rain).

Later on there will be room-control and then they will have spaghetti for dinner. If the weather permits they plan a camp-fire and a night walk afterwards.

The children are all happy and enjoying their camp!

Last night there was a very short night walk due to the cold and rainy weather. Everbody goes to sleep at around 10.30pm.

This morning the campers had a continental breakfast at 8.30am. An hour later they started with the camp diary, then painted and worked with fimo. For lunch the prepared their hamburgers and cheeseburgers on the open fire and they could also eat outdoors (so the weather was not bad all the day).

In the afternoon they played english games and sports games. At 5pm they are making pizza for dinner and prepare for tonights camp show. If there is no rain the group will play The Whiste Game in the nearby woods at night.

Today the weather was mixed: in the morning it was mainly cloudy with 14°C, during the day they enjoyed clouds, rain, sun and strong winds at 15°C. At 5.30pm it was partly cloudy, partly sunny and again 14°C. But there is a very good chance for the "whistlers" tonight as the blue sky already looked through the clouds.

Although the weather is not, all the boys and girls are fine and having a great time at the camp. No injuries so far.

Yesterdays evening the campers could only play 2 rounds of The Whistel Game. So they had a ghost-story in the late evening - huh...

For breakfast at 8.30am they had french toast. Then the girls and boys went to the bus to head to Neunkirchen where they enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool. At noon they had lunch there. All the mails you sent were handed over to Danny and will be given to the children once they return to the camp. At 2pm the drove back to the Dr. F. Nagl hut.

In the later afternoon there will be English Games. After room control they will have a buffet for dinner. In the evening they plan to play The Goblin Game, another outdoor game.

Weather: this morning they had 14°, noon (at Neunkirchen) 24°C, water temperature in the pool 24°C. It was partly cloudy, partly sunny all the day long. They expect to have a dry evening though, so the outdoor activities will take place.

The first series of pictures is online available by now - check it out.

Because the weather yeaterday evening was not that good, the campers decide to reschedule The Goblin Game for tonight. So they had the camp-disco and another ghost story instead. Bedtime was at 11pm.

This morning the group had an Irish breakfast (beans on toast) at 9am. Then they painted some t-shirts until noon. For lunch they had stew.

In the afternoon there were English games and they played Capture The Flag. At 6.30pm they start to prepare for the grill party. Tonight they will play The Goblin Game as mentioned before.

Today weather report: mostly sunny, low winds. In the morning they had 12°C, during noon about 20°C and at 6.30pm still 17°C. Good camp weather, the girls and boys were outdoors all the day.

Unfortunately we have to say good bye to Lisa. She got sick and had to move home. Everybody wishes her all the best and that she is getting well soon!

Yesterday was a great evening for the campers. They played a great Goblin Game (30 minutes longer than usual; in fact they could have played longer), did Gerrys Box Game and had a fire works. The daily good-night song took place at 1.30am - everybody was very happy!

Hence this morning the breakfast was at 10 o'clock. The group had 2.5kg of pancake - hungry after a long night. Later they did the camp diary and started to build shelters in the nearby woods.

For lunch at 1pm they will have sandwiches, then there will be some more english games and they will clean up the hut.

Today the weather was great again: almost no clouds, 19°C in the morning hours, at noon they had 24°C.

The campers will be back in Bad Vöslau at 6pm.
